Hi, bit of a long shot but here goes...
I have a Sony Vaio FW55 running on Windows 7, it was a custom spec when I purchased it a few years ago.
It has given me a great service and continues to do so, however:
Recently I noticed it wasn't playing certain Blu-Ray disks, so messing around I tried un-installing WinDVD and re-installing a newer version.
Since then my Blu-Ray drive is now un recognised. 😞
It is a Mat*****a BD-MLT UJ240AS
It is listed in my device manager, but with an error; "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"
I have tried using the 'update driver' feature but it just says that the correct version is already installed.
Please help! currently I have no DVD / Blu-Ray drive at all. 😞
Hi paratcl7657,
Have a look at Blencogo's answer in the following thread:
Although in this instance it was error code 19 the answer applies to error code 39 also.
