DVD RW DRIVE AND BLANK DISCS

Hi. I've a FR-315S laptop with a 2x DVD RW drive. Had problems using 1-4x blank DVD RW disks. Each time a box comes up saying 'the disc has not been recognised'. Is there an update avaiable for my laptop or any suggestions about what make of DVD RW discs are suitable - have already tried Philips and Verbatim.

Not so sure about the vaio-link update......it says it's for my K-series S laptop but my computer has different make/model drive to the one it says the update is for. I certainly wouldn't recommend applying a firmware update for a different drive to the one it's supposed to be for.

I think I'll drop Sony a line about that ....
