Finding the tilde symbol on my keyboard

Hello all,

Greetings!

This is my first post here. Wonder if anyone here can help me with this, I tried looking up stuff in the manual, but can't seem to find info aboaut it anywhere.

My Norton antivurs programme has a back up facilty as well, and when trying to configure it, it asks me to go to the Start / Execute / type in cmd / type in some code in a window. The code includes a tilde symbol which is not present on my keyboard as the computer was bought in Italy and instead of the tilde being on one of the keys, it has accented vowels like àùèìé. How do I access this symbol to type in the code?

TVMIA (Thanks very much in advance!)

PS My computer model is Vaio VGN FE 11H

Hmm, hadn't thought of that. I haven't come across any problems yet though, the ones I was describing were on my old computer...

OK, one thing I have noticed on BOTH computers is that when I am moving the cursor across the screen from right to left using the touch pad, sometimes it causes the browser window to revert to the previous window, like clicking the "go back a page" button. Anyone else find this, and can it be overcome?

Go to Control Panel -> Mouse or click on the touchpad icon in the system tray.

Go through the Tabs and uncheck the "Use Web Assistant" box. This will stop the 'Go Back a Page' assigned to the top left hand corner of the touchpad.

Can't be more specific - I'm on a Desktop at the moment.
