I am having problems with my newly installed Media Center on my Vaio PCGFR315B!
"The files needed to display video are not installed or working correctly."
I have installed the previously installed MPEG codec, i need a mpeg codec that is comatable with Sync of WMP 10, and MCE compatable.
having spent all my money on MCE, i have no money to buy a codec, that might not work
allready tried ACE MEGA CODECS.
didn't work.
If you can help it will be greatly appreciated!
Take a look at http://mediaportal.sourceforge.net/
it's a nice alternative to Windows Media Center and you can install it on your preinstalled operating system.
Or you could buy a Codec. Check the WindowsMedia site for DVD-plugins. They cost approx 12€ or 9GBP. It's just a codec.
I use the Plugin from Sonic Solutions. It works for Realplayer, or any other player too.
Edit:
The MPEG2 codec itself is freeware. You can download it from a few codec-sites. Just google "free MPEG2 codec".
The only problem are copyprotected media, like movie-DVDs. They doesn't work with the free codec. That's why have to buy the commercial codec if you install another OS.
You really shouldn't need to buy a codec, if you look for DVD codecs I'm sure you'll find one
hmmm, hopefully.
I tried alot, but I was always without luck as I tried to watch a bought DVD.:smileysad:
