FS115S - Memory

Can anyone confirm the configuration of the memory for the FS115S.

Is it one 512Mb module or two 256Mb modules.

I'm sure I've read it is two 256Mb modules, but this seems to compromise upgrading to 1024Mb by having to buy two 512Mb modules.

I don't want to open the case to check as it would invalidate my guarantee.

Well, I wasn't planning on buying Sony RAM as I can get 512Mb modules for £55 quid through Crucial compared to £170 from Sony.

However, it is a bit of a rip off providing 2x256Mb modules rather than 1x512Mb as it really screws up the ability to upgrade to 1024Mb. Not surprising though as it would cost you £340,00 through Sony to buy them. I wonder how much the modules cost Sony?

yeah, thats true.. my a317s is also 2x256mb and max upgrade is 2G!:smileycry:

You won't need more than 2Gb. With the rest of the system specs more than 2Gb would just be a waste.

Yeah i think 1G is goood enough but as you know, i am sort of person that wanted the best when given choices, and since its said max is 2G why not max it? :smileygrin: :smileygrin:

so for me is either just leave it at 512.. or max it to 2G
