Hi,
i have a small question please: I have a USB drive and i would like to boot from it. The BIOS does not support this. Did anybody try something similar?
thanks in advance
As far as I am aware the only USB device that a Vaio will boot from is the Sony USB floppy drive.
isn't there a new BIOS that has a USB device in the boot sequence?
thanks
If there is for a Vaio then it is news to me!

Hopefully someone can think of a USB driver which can go on the floppy disk so you can start from a USB stick
I am sure when Sony concede defeat it will no doubt have to be a SONY USB pen Drive or a SONY Memory Stick:smileygrin:
I think booting via USB is possible but dissabled in BIOS. Nearly every new board since Intel Mobile (I mean the thingys in there centrinos :smileyrolling_eyes: ) was able to boot via USB.
That isn't new, LOL.
Shame they don't support their MicroVaults or whatever they're called now
