Hello, yesterday I tried to record some data on a DVD+R (it was the first time, casually I did use always DVD-R) with my VAIO PCG-GRT996VP and I discovered it was impossible. I tried using Nero 6.3, Drag'n'Drop and WinXP. How is it possible? The manual, the sony site and the OS assure it should be possible...but it doesn't really work. Could it be a problem of drivers or firmware? Where can I download updates? thanks to anyone who will help me....
thank you, but taking a look at sony site was the first thing I did...and I didn't find any useful information...
Mmm
They're not dual layer discs are they? I've got a feeling that some vaio's don't like that format of disc.
No, they're not double layer...and they are high quality, they are Verbatim! ......help!
Mmmm might be an optical drive problem but there are no firmware updates available for your model. Not that I can find anyway.
See if anyone else responds to this thread with suggestions first then contact Sony to see what they have to say.
With wich maximum speed DVD +R can be burned on your computer? If it's 4x then it could be impossible to burn DVD +R 1-8x for example.
I think a lot of people misunderstand this 1-8x on the side of boxes.
It simply means you can burn data in the range of 1x to 8x. So if you have a 4x drive, you can burn 1x, 2x and 4x with those DVDs.
I always used to use the same DVDs (Verbatim DVD-R 8x certified, instead of Verbatim DVD+R 8x certified), so I don't really think this could be the problem... anyway, I will try also with a 4x DVD... but don't you stop giving me advice, please!
Thank you all....
Your drive might only support DVD-R
