Install Windows Vista?

i have VGN-A297XP.....can i install windows vista on it?

Have you tried running Vista Upgrade Advisor ?

You can install Vista on most modern laptops - Sony have produced the Vista Applications/Utilities for A297XP for download. It should run OK but you may not be capable of using all Vista's capabilities.

You may need to increase the RAM memory to 1GB or even better 2GB. The only concern would be the ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 (64mb) Graphics Chip which does not have enough dedicated memory to run Aero Effects under Vista. It is worth looking in the BIOS to see if this can be increased to 128MB but I suspect not which would mean you cannot display Aero.
