iPAQ memory compatibility

I have a VAIO VGN-117s and recently purchased a HP iPAQ. The iPAQ has slots for:

Type II Compact Flash
Secure Digital / MMC

Which of these (if either) is compatible with my laptop i.e. which one can i move between the two to transfer files.

I presume you have the A Series VGN-A117S.

Your Vaio does not have memory card slots for either of these cards. You will need to buy an inexpensive USB card reader for about £12 and this will be able to read both Compact Flash and SD cards.

You may be better advised to connect by mini USB and transfer your files through a cable.

As to which to use - I don't suppose it makes much difference and you should look at the price per MB of storage.

In short, CF cards are bigger, older technology but at the moment slightly more reliable when using more than one machine. SD cards are smaller, lighter and 'Cooler' but are prone to a few compatibility issues.
