Just bought - keeps going on standby problem

I've just bought a VGN-SZ2XP but it keeps going on stand-by or hibernates unexpectantly. It is not the power options as I've looked at that - I can use it for about 30mins - 1hr max and then it suddenly goes on stand-by. It happens when its using the battery or mains power.

I'm planning to take it back to the shop but wondered if anyone else has had the problem and whether it is overheating. If this is a design fault then it's a pretty useless machine!

This should not happen - especially on mains power. Sounds like you have a fault.

I would take it back to the shop where you bought it for replacement.

I think I've found the problem - completely my own fault. I wear a bioflow magnet on my wrist and that seemed to be interfering with the laptop. duh!

Magnets should never be around computers, your hard drive data is written in magnetic patterns, hence if you use a magnet close to it there is a high chance of interefering and corrupting it.
