losing ghz

I've got a Vaio-fs415m and on the system info its got that i have got 1.73 ghz but when i run my game its coming up that i have got 0.8ghz, so is it possible to lose ghz.

Welcome to the forum,
Go into power management and select 'adaptive'. To do this right click on the power icon bottom left of your task bar. Your setting may be on 'battery' or stuck and need some encouragement. Sometime rebooting while using the battery sorts it. Please note if you select 'performance' it will crank every operation at 1.7ghz and start to overheat. Adaptive is better
