Low headphone volum eon Vaio PCG-K115B

Hi,

When I watch movies in the train using headphones, the audio is not loud enough. I have all volume levels set to the max, but still it is not loud enough to fully enjoy it. Is there any other control I could use to boost the volume? Anybody knows a software utility which would boost the general volume?

Thank you.

V.

RobPaxton : thank you for the tip, I was looking for some hardware solution though (carrying extra hardware is not something I am really looking forward to). But at a last option, I think that's great!

Have you tried going to the advanced menu in the volume control tab?? Goto the audio icon in the taskbar...goto the options menu and select properties...then check every box in the list and click ok... the audio control panel will now be enlarged...move all the sliders in the control panel to max.:smileycool:

Also in sounds and alerts you can set the profile of the speakers you're using, select headphones.

I did not have any setting in the BIOS (except to set up the boot-up animation volume), however I found a solution to my problem by installing a utility called ffdshow. I allows to boost the volume by 300% (among many many other things).

Ah yes, it's usually used alongside the XviD codec.

An excellent idea. I had the same problem with my VAIO PCG-K115B, but it was cured after trying this!
