MY LAPTOP HAS DIED :-(

Can anyone please help! My laptop refuses to power-up. The green light is on under the power button, an amber light is flashing under the battery1 symbol but nothing is happening. If I hold down the power button the lights for the number lock, caps lock and scroll lock, light up but then go off. I hear a whirring sound as though it is going to power-up, but then nothing happens! HELP. Thanks in advance.

disconnect your laptop and remove the battery. Press and hold down the power button for over 30 seconds. then reconnect the battery and power supply. This could do the trick.

To eliminate a memory problem you could try all permutations of one memory chip in each slot.

Btw, are you getting any ‘beep’ codes at boot?
