Got my very first laptop - vaio FS215Z.
When you got yours how was it sealed? I'm just a bit concerned.
Jim
take it back as a eu citz the box should be sealed..
pc world tried three times to load a vaio..that had been back..as the donut who bought it had,.one one restored it to one drive..the other had a norton go back not for resell..display item then reboxed for the next donut..the final one was freeze state dvd drive had a not for resell norton disc in drive..
smile say i reject this item..nothing else..ask credit card credit..bet you get a few other bits to take the new one in a sealed box.untampered with..
then back up all downlaods to disc take all upgrades then play with new toy..they do work well..and for the money only take clean boxes..:smileypig: :smileyflag: riggins
Thanks for your reply. It wasn't PC world it was a reputable Sony Centre and ordered for me from Sony. The box had been sealed with a 3" X 1" piece of white tape which was broken. Any other Sony items I've bought have been sealed with 2" clear tape which is very difficult to tamper with. On closer examination there was a slightly narrower strip underneath.
Except for a piece of crushed cardboard everything looked OK - I photographed every detail as I was unpacking ( I too have been bitten before!).
The laptop seems good except for slight fan noise and noise when a DVD is first loaded. What's everyone's experience on these points?
As I say I'm new to this and also getting on a bit so pretty computer naive:smileywink: .
Any comments appreciated. Mainly my original questio was do they use "2 clear tape or 1" tatty white paper tape sealed on one side of the closure pull-out tab?
Thanks again and I'll be back soon to ask about setting up a wireless network:smileygrin:
