PCMCIA card slot on Sony Vaio PCG-K215B HELP!

Ok I have just bought a VAIO pcg-k215b 2.8ghz laptop off of ebay. I really like it but whenever I try to put any cards in the PCMIA card slot they are not recognised. Also they are not powering up at all and I have tried several different cards. Primarily I want to use my wireless card in it. Does anyone know if you can disable/enable the slot if there is anything I can do or does it need a repair?

I have looked in the BIOS and on the Sony notebook setup and can find nothing although the slot is recognised in windows device manager...

Doesn't it have built in wireless?

Try resetting the drivers:

Right click my computer
click on properties
click on the hardware tab
click device manager
click on the + next to PCMCIA
right click the first one and click uninstall
restart the VAIO and repeat this for this second slot if there's one

tried it and...failed. Anything else? No way of disabling/enabling these ports...it just seems weird that it has no power....

Did they reinstall themselves?
Lack of power might well be due to problems on the motherboard the seller didn't admit

Yep they do reinstall upon restart or the new hardware wizard themselves if i delete them or uninstall them
