what kind of power shemes do you guys think i should use for best batterie life on my notebook?
im usually on the road and working a lot with batterie, but doesnt keep more than an hour and a
half!
is that how long vaio custom batteries hold on?
Unless your machine is a 'desktop replacement' then you should have various power saving options available to you.
You should have a power scheme called "Ultimate battery life". This will halve the clock speed on chips with speedstep technology; also, ensure you have the brightness on your screen set to low - this is the next most power-hungry aspect of your laptop.
HTH
Isn't there an optimised for battery use power scheme in the pannel?
You could use this different Windows Powersheme too. You could deactivat some devices in a Powersheme and you could deacktivate some services which you wouldn't need then.
Look, I hate to get all high and mighty but this is getting on my nerves
The word is SCHEME - with a C :smileyrolling_eyes:

LOL, the "sh" is like the "sch" in german, btw.

zina, I guess you could make your own Power Settings (unless things have changed drastically since the GRX days) where you set the LCD to around half way, set the hard disks not to park as much (saves energy) set the CPU to be adaptive and have adaptive fan
thanks
