problem with VP and Canon 300D

the VP does not recognise the Canon 300D and I cannot dowload photos.
I tried with a CF reader and it was OK, but when I changed it with a new one it does not work.
Unfortunately I have lost the old one.
I bought a new one: it works, but it is so slow that dowloading photos make no sense.

do you have any suggestion? or can you tell me where to buy a CF reader that is fully compatible with my VP?

Just as long as it has a 2.0 USB connection it should work fine.
