S2XP DDR Memory

Hi,
I want to add extra memory to my S2XP but have a few questions.
1, How much can I add to the existing 512MB
2, Do I have to use any specific type.
3, How do I do it
Thanks

Dont listen to sony, both S series ( new and old ) and the TR, T series support 2 gb max memory. Sony does not want to admit this for some reason, but IT DOES. Its the motherboard arthitecture and you can check the intel website for confirmation.

cheers.

The type of memmory quoted by Sony is rather expensive. Do you know of any better options.

You can buy RAM from other manufacturers for the 1/3 of the price.

Crucial is good.
MDT is good too and cheaper. (but only 3 years warranty)

True, I can confirm this too. The 2 slots can handle 1GB DDR. Don't buy your memory from Sony. They are way overpricing their products.
If you need to buy 1 GB modules buy the from this link:

They WORK 100% because I am using them now.

Sad because Sony are outpricing themselves out of the market.

What about the how?

I really like my FS laptop but it is slow when I copy music from CDs and I'm sure the DVD burning will be slow too, so I'd like to add more memory.

Did you guys do this yourselves - and how?

 What about the how?

Your user manual explains the 'how'.
