If you visit the Crucial site and enter details of your model they will give exact details of the type of memory that it supports.

I'm thinking of upgrading in one o two month.
Look at Kingston Web site, I found it for my S4HP, here in Spain 512MB cost 100 Euros.

those sites dont help much

crusial doesnt include my model
kingston says it acn be upgraded to 1gb (not true because it has two slots -one under the keyboard and the other on the bottom)

it must be 200-pin SODIMM DDR2 PC2-4200 but i want to be sure

Hello, first of all, download this utility, CPU-Z:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download425.html

It tells you what kind of module you have in your VAIO, it's PC3200 Infineon 1x512MB module, CAS latency 3 clocks. This is the module under the keyboard, the other is empty.

Kingston only has 256Mb or 512MB, then you only can be upgraded with another 512MB, 2x512MB = 1024MB.

Why not just have a look at the module installed, it will have a label on giving details of what it is.
