slow access

Does anyone else find accessing threads on this forum quite slow.
Maybe I just expect too much. Other forums are faster.:smileysad:

It'sso slow I'm actually considering downloading opera just for this site. It's ******* ridiculous. Come on CU, sort it out.

How will Opera help? I use a souped up version of Firefox with the connection tweaked to hell and back that makes most webpage load a damn sight quicker. It might have an effect here too and it's even slower for most people, but it's utter rubbish either way. I think they have someone there coding the page in realtime each time we request one. Nothing else can explain it.

would you care to share your secrets of soupiung up FF, I think alot of us here could use it. I too am experiencing wait times of 30 seconds plus, especiallyt to load the post reply page.

A while ago, i tried opera, and it was must faster at loading CV than FF.

I don't think it's anything to do with Opera or FF or IE.

I think one or two of Sony's servers are enjoying some downtime.

Would be nice to know though. Polite even.

Certainly. It's a combination of Firefox and this extension which makes a great deal of difference to some pages, especially large ones.

It makes no difference at all here. I just timed, it took 3 minutes for this reply page to appear. I don't see it being a temporary outage because it's like this so often their servers would have to be powered by a damn waterwheel or something for it to be that unreliable. If it isn't water then it's a hamster in a wheel powering it, and he's tired.

Seriously, I never encountered a page this bad unless it's coming from some tiny little server in Japan or something. It would be hilarious if I weren't sitting here waiting.
