Sony A417S Battery Problems

Hi,

I ve recently purchase a A Series 417S however, even if the machine is left on for 48 HRS the indicator still say 100% charging. My other laptop displays on AC when charged. Is this a sony thing, or a faulty product? Any help on this would be gratefully received
