Hey,
I've recently bought a Vaio SZ61WN/C. As it came with Vista Business, I've now formatted the entire HD to put XP on. The first install of XP worked ok but after about one day i started to get pretty random bluescreens. Since i just didnt wanna bother with analyzing the problem any more i decided to reformat again and give it another go with a different XP CD, SP2 integrated.
Now the wierd stuff started. I formatted, installed, then rebooted and suddently it said "no operating system found". Restarted again, Windows was back as usual. Restarted - now it didn't find the entire HDD anymore.
After all that I reckond that something must have gone wrong during the installation. I again op'ed to reinstall. Now, while the windows setup loads, I'm getting a bluescreen, advising me to disable shadowing in the bios.
What the heck is going on. I'm an experienced windows user but have little to zero clue about notebook hardware. I'd be extremely glad for advice and help since I need the book for work.
Thanks a lot!
Have you installed the XP Drivers, the XP Utilities and the XP BIOS Update for your model?
You can download all the XP software from here: -

have you read my post?
It sometimes doesn't detect my HD, I get bluescreens while installing XP, sometimes it hangs in the Bios picture for 3,4 or 5 minutes
