does someone know if it's harmless to put the vaio motherboard near your tft monitor on the desk????? Or on the ground?

What you mean inside the case? The picture on your monitor may distort if electrical things are very close, in which case just move them away again. On the ground is fine, again assuming you mean while still inside the case.

I wouldn't put the VAIO on the carpet, my friend lost his PC due to a surge.

As for the TFT being close to the tower, there's no problem with that.
