i want upgrade my notebook with a new harddisk (Toshiba MK1032GAX).
does i lose my warranty if i alter it myself?

i also want do add a 256MB DD333 ram.
does it work if one module is 256 und the other one 512mb?

Hi yes you will loose your warranty and yes the memory will work fine together but just remember to get the right kind

Actually you don't loose the warranty, you loose the service from VAIO Link, this means you can't ring them to ask questions anymore, but if - heaven forbid, your LCD went, then they'd replace it if it's not connected to the installation of the new hard disk.
