hello everybody!
i own a sony vaio PCG-FR285E notebook and i would like to replace my old internal optical drive (QSI SBW-241) with a new one that allows me to burn dvds as well.
these are the questions i have...
1. is it really difficult to get a new internal drive installed? from what i´ve read on the manufacturer´s websites it seems really easy, but that´s of course their story...has anyone ever done this? did it work?
2. do i have to worry about compatibility issues when upgrading my drive? would the sony DW-Q58A drive work, for example? couldn´t find any info on this drive on sony´s website nor did it say anything about this on the website of my vaio model.
