Vaio PCG-Z600TEK - backup batterie ???

Can anyone help me ? I´m searching the backup battery on the board ! My Vaio suddenly "shut down" (screen + harddrive) after half an hour and I read in a forum that the reason is a defect backup battery. First question: is this true - second question: where is the place of the Backup battery on the board - third question: where can I buy this battery and whats the price ??

Sorry to read of your problem.

I am not sure that a defective backup battery would cause your notebook to suddenly shut down.

A recent post on this Forum was about a notebook that refused to start up.

Sony tech guys apparently told the person to remove the battery and mains power and hold the on button down for thirty seconds.

Then restore power and try switching on again.

You should go to Power in Control Panel to sort this problem out.
