VAIO TX1XP /B - none of the keyboard buttons work

Just bought a brand new TX1XP , none of the keyboard buttons work.

Touchpad works with both right and left buttons , special buttons work like AV/CD buttons. PC starts but ofcourse i can't complete XP setup as it doesn't have possibility to input Admin login.

Any thoughts ?

Hi SweepyS2

Welcome to the Forum.

There is an on-screen keyboard in Start > All Programs > Accessories > Accessibility,

That will allow you to use the mouse instead of the keys.

From reading you post I doubt you have got this option.

Alternatively you could press F10 at system startup and run the Vaio recovery utility.

If the keyboard doesn't function during the boot process it is a hardware problem. Return it to your supplier for a replacement.

Thanks for nice welcome.

But all F1-F12 are disabled also ! The whole keyboard is.

Any more ideas  ? Maybe it can be locked in someway ? Maybe I can unlock it ? Or it's most possibly hardware failure like internal cable or chip ?

You cable to the motherboard or keyboard has come loose or is badly connected, as Thalmus pointed out best to get it fixed
