I want to upgrade my internal memory but from sony (sony site) they are very expensive (273euro) now there is an alternative for my notebook wich costs 135euro, the pc shop says that works the same for half the price, can I trust the alternative?
I would never trust memory upgrades not bought through authorised sony centres / distributors.
Both Crucial and Kingston can be trusted.
Hilary,
If cost is not an issue fine, but with me it is and I have had many dealings with Crucial over the last few years and never ever had a problem.
If you want to pay upto 4 times as much for memory upgrades then buy Sony.
William
LOL true... and you have more problems with Sony
If an upgrade for your laptop is available at Crucial, I would definitely go with them (using their memory selector thingy).
I would have bought the upgrade for my S1XP if Crucial supplied MicroDIMMs, but unfortunately they don't. I'm pretty sure they supply upgrades for the VGN-A series.
Crucial are a reputable company and their memory carries a compatibility guarantee. I've used them for years and their service and support is excellent.
