VGN-A115S Battery life is short

I've got a Vaio VGN-A115S.

Somehow my battery is draining very fast 😞

Befor I got my Sony I had an Acer (also Centrino) - I worked with it up to 4 and a half hour.
Now my Vaio is empty after 2 and a half hour wich is a bit dissapointing.

Power mode is turned to "Battery Life" and the Display ist at Level 1 (dark).
Bluetooth and Wireless Lan is turned off. (If Wireless Lan is activated it will be 20 minutes less).
I even switched to a grayscale Theme at Windows dispaly settings.

Is this normal or can I do something to extend battery life?

That's normal.........it's the Vaio screens, you pay in battery life for what you get in general niceness. Be glad you get 2 and a half hours, I can't even watch a DVD film on mine withou the battery going dead before it's over.
I had a look on Sonys product website and while the 115s isn't on there, the 117s IS and the stated battery life is 2.5 hours. To get the stated battery life is quite frankly an achievement in itself so I sincerely doubt you will better it.

That model is rathed at 2hrs 30mins battery life.
