VP and In-Car Audio.

Hello there again folks,

Little question - Can I connect the VP to my car stereo or whatever so that I can use the tunes on my VP, rather than having to copy onto CD's etc.

Thanks,

Marcus.

(give me some links to any connectors I may need)

What so If I have a stereo with a AUX-In socket I can connect my VAIO Pocket by connecting a wire from the LINE-OUT on the cradle into the AUX on the Stereo unit?

And everything will work fine?

Thanks for help so far BTW!

Yes that's all you need to do. I have made a bracket that the cradle fits into and it works fine. I have not taken the decission to externally power the unit as the battery life is long enough any way.

Give it a go, you know it makes sense!!

Wow that sounds great!

Having a 40gb player in the car will be so cool.

But are you sure the Line-in on the back of the cradle with connect the the AUX slot on the stereo head unit system?

What i mean is shouldnt the stereo unit have a line-in or does line-in with the Vaio work with AUX?

Hi Hornby

I use an FM modulator in my car plugged into the vaio cradle. The only reason I use an FM modulator is because my car stereo does not have line in capability. However, in my home my vaio is plugged directly from the cradle into my HiFi's AUX input and it works fine.

Thanks Gazza,

Lets just hope the Aux on a car Stereo Unit is the same as that of an actual home stereo system.

hi i used an fm transmitter and found it to be a waste of time!! so have wired my V.P into my sony headunit by tricking the head unit into thinking its playing the boot changer

This was possible by leaving the control cable connected to the boot changer and leaving an old music cd in the machine but connecting the audio to the v.p using a headphone jack to rca jacks (red and white plugs) bought from any audio visual shop (about £5) it means finding a place for the cable to exit your dash but when its done its done!!

this was a standard sony head unit in a toyota celica 2002 whether sony still make their boot changers with two cabels i dont know but its possible!!

to mount the player i used a stadard adjustable grip mobile holder mounted to the windsreen turn the holder to the side and it fits the vaio perfectly

 :bulb: How about a Sony VAIO car cd player it could have a built-in detachable harddrive that can connect to your VAIO notebook/desktop:smileyidea: .
