Why a partitioned drive? Why so little space?

Hello, i recently bought an FS215B, and i have to say i am very disappointed by the hard drive. It's supposedly 60GB (i know you have to allow for the OS etc) First of all it's partitioned. Why is that? Secondly it's more like 35 GB. My C drive's total size is 27.9 GB, yet there is only 14GB free!!! How much rubbish is on there! My D Drive has 20.9 GB, and has that all free. I feel very cheated indeed.

LOL, I have approx 15GB for drive C:\. The rest on D:\.

Enough space for my software.

Lol domster. No honestly, say what you really think of Sony software lol.

I agree actually, everything Sony provided is gone except for the awesome Adobe pack. It annoys me intensely that D:\ should be for documents, when My Documents sits on C:\ and lots of programs insist you use it, as well as Windows insisting to some degree as well.

Is there anyway to completely get rid of both partitions so that you just have one big 100gb drive with out having to wipe the system and reinstall windows ect.?

 A417S is a notebook not desktop.

You can, but honestly I wouldn't recommend it. If nothing else, it would mean performing a system restore would wipe the entire drive as it cleans the main partition. It does actually speed up the computer slightly as well, mainly Windows.

So would you have to delete windows aswell?

Specially with huge volumes, partitioning is a good idea
