can we adjust the volume of SPDIF in the master volume? is anyone have the same machine VGN-A517B could tell me?

You should be able to
Just click on your speaker icon in the taskbar, go to the menu then properties and click the checkbox next to SPDIF so ti can be shown in the mixer

but mine SPDIF is grey can't move it!!!:smileycry: , just wonder isn't i'm upgrade the optical driver and make it can't move anymore? pls help me, what can i do???

I may be wrong here but my understanding is that you must have a sound card that has SPDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface) connections, as your sound card is onboard, I do not think you have these and therefore you can't adjust the settings, hence why they are grey and can't move. :slight_frown:

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong here:smileyconfused:

Some have optical out on the A/V port replicator.
