Xperia Tablet Z the media sound doesn't work anymore

On my Xperia Tablet Z the media sound stopped working recently. The alarm and the ringtone sound works as it should but not the media sound. It doesn't work att all, no sound with headphones and no sound without.

Does anyone know what the problem is? Or do I just have to buy a new tablet?

I have already tried rebooting the tablet but nothing changed.

Hello @Lolarsso and welcome to the community!

No need to rush to the decision of buying a new tablet, and let's start some troubleshooting:

- Restart your tablet in safe mode, this will disable all 3rd party apps thus temporarily removing any glitches they may cause. If the problem disappears in safe mode then one of your installed apps is causing this and you'll have to figure which one by removing the most recently installed apps one by one.

- If the problem persists in safe mode, then I'd suggest that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory. Don't forget to backup using Xperia Companion, but preferably without adding apps or settings to the backup.

Follow the steps given in blue links, and keep us updated.

Hello thank you for The answer but it didn't work this time.

I followed you The steps you sent. I tried starting The tablet in safe mode but The problem remained so I tried the software repair but The problem is still there.

Is there anything left to do?
