Xperia Z2 tablet accepts charge for a few seconds then stops charging. Help!

When I try to turn on the tablet everything seems fine, its gets to the stage when what I would call the swooshy blue line bit starts, carries on for a few moments and then cuts out and turns off.

I cant charge it either.

Ive tried holding the power and volume down until it vibrates three times - no effect

power and volume up for then 30 seconds gets the red led for a few moments the screen comes on and tells me I have 71% and then it cuts out.

Please help me, what can I do?

Hi @Hairy_so_and_so, welcome to our community!

I'm sorry to hear about your Tablet Z. Slightly_frowning_Face

Depending on which model of the Tablet Z that you have, try removing the SIM and/or SD card from your tablet and see if you are able to get it powered on when these cards aren't mounted in your tablet.

If there is no change, I'd recommend that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. Do note that this will delete all data stored on the internal storage of your tablet and since you can't power it on and unlock it, creating a back will not be possible.

Should you experience the same behaviour after the software repair has been completed your tablet will have to examined by an authorized service centre. Your Local support team will arrange a repair for you so get in touch with them!

Let me know how it went!

Sadly it has made no difference.

Its a Z2 wifi only tablet and the sd card has been removed

It tells me that it completed sucessfully software version 23.5.A.1.291-R3D but I only get the boot screen for a few moments and the tablet then powers off

Hi again!

I'm sorry for the late reply, I have been out of office due to being sick. Slightly_frowning_Face

I also moved the thread to the Z2 Tablet boards since that is the product you were asking about!

If there was no change after the software repair had been completed and after removing the SD card. I'd recommend that you get in touch with your Local support team so they can arrange a repair for you.

If you have any questions regarding local service routines, warranty, consumer laws and so forth they are the experts on your market and will gladly answer that for you as well!

Keep me posted!
