@bce

Your post it's a bit confusing

Are you recording a video but you have the mic disabled, hence no sound?

Yes I think it was a year ago or so that movie recording with direct sound worked fine..

Then Sony? removed that option  and forced mlc use to get sound in the recording.

That's not a pro solution? sound gets really bad.

Sorry but can you explain further?
Sony has never removed the mic option from video recording.

Right, not the mic option but direct sound option.

Sorry, it is when I use the built in screen recorder. Long press power > record screen.

@bce

That's how it's supposed to work, it's supposed to record YOU talking and/or your surroundings NOT whatever it's on the screen, you could turn up the volume of the videogame or whatever you have running

or

use third party app

@Viridis If I'm not mistaken it has been like that since it was preloaded with Xperias, I don't recall if there was a copyright restriction

Correct, screen recording has always used the mic for audio, even 3Rd party apps.
There are some copywrite restrictions, streaming media won't record, nor remote play.

That's how it's supposed to work,

you could turn up the volume of the videogame or whatever you have running

>just looking at YouTube.

>same problem with third party app.
