Hi, I purchased an XA Ultra about 3 weeks ago.
This morning I woke up at a friends far away and my phone just says:
Unfortunately System UI has stopped
I now have no way of getting home as the device is my only GPS back....
I have used Xperia Z Ultra for 3 years without a single problem, I get this phone and now 3 weeks later I cannot even use it.
Is there a fix for this or do I need to get a full replacement or refund?
This is absolutely ridiculous.
I turn my phone off, go to bed, and have no phone in the morning.
This can happen due to some corrupt system file, and can be simply fixed by resetting your phone to factory status, or better perform a software repair using Xperia Companion.
Well...
xperia software repair reset my entire phone.
This is not a solution...
I just had an Xperia Z Ultra for 3 years which I factory reset 1 time.
Ive had a phone for 3 weeks and it needs to be reset? this seems like a lemon.
I would not recommend this device to anyone based on what just happened.
Hi @Aa46,
I'm so sorry to hear about that.
Are you doing anything specific when this message appears on the screen? For example, playing a game, listening to music or using a specific application or service?
If you are experiencing the same behaviour while the phone is rebooted in safe mode that @uliwooly recommended, try to go to Settings in your phone and then Apps > the small gear icon in the top right corner > Draw over other apps > 3 dots > Show system > System UI > Allow it to draw over other apps by sliding the small dot to the right.
Restart the phone and see if this message still appears on your screen.
If you want the phone replaced I'd recommend getting in touch with your Local support team, since they are well informed on these kind of routines in your market.
Let us know how it goes!
Unfortunatly system ui has stopped
Not solve
Hi @rinkudreams01, sorry to hear this.
Does this happen when you do something specific, or can it appear at any time? If it's the later, could you see if this still happens in safe mode?
