Fake notification of pending update from support app

When I open the support application I get a notification that update is pending. However when I click the notification or go to software update it says - your phone has up-to-date software. Any ideas on this?

I think this is a bug. Try resetting the Update Service.

Go to Settings > Apps > 3 dots > Show System > Update Service > Force Stop > Storage > Clear Data.

If it still comes up, try updating your phone via Xperia Companion.

Unfortunately that didn't work. A couple of interesting things.

1. After stopping the update service I realised that the service has not consumed any storage! Please see attached screenshot.

2. I restarted the phone but the service did not start automatically and I didn't find a way to start it.

Yes it will. Make sure you perform a backup using Xperia Companion first.

Got it. In that case I would rather live with the issue, it's not a show stopper for me anyway...

Looks like the.66 update fixed the issue. Thanks Sony for listening and fixing the bug fast. Hope this trend keeps up ;).
