[BUG] Dialing Sensor (Beside Ear Speaker)

After accepting calls, when we put our ear to the ear speaker, the sensor will detect and put the display off.

And when we put our ear away, the sensor will detect and turn on the display.

But on my Xperia S, when i take my ear away from the ear speaker, the display remains off and never came on unless i press the on/off button to activate the screen.

Does other users experience this problem?

The one that came in the box with the phone?!

DO a service test and the proximity sensor will work 100% of the time, but in use, it fails, along with the lock screen coming on etc.

How come you can't ask the developers if they've looked at this issue, seeing as I did post about it in the ICS problems thread a good few months ago now.

I am using a copter screen protector, but it does not cover the sensor.

Also it is not always the screen fails to "turn on" when removing the phone from the ear. When I do short phone calls it is usually working, but as soon the call is longer then a few minutes then the screen does not turn on.

It is like the proximity sensor process or something is crashing during phone calls. Just a guess.

yes exactly, after a long conversation it usually occurs!

Also, even if I dial the number, then talk for a bit, when I want to hang up, I have to press the power button to wake the screen, then UNLOCK the phone as the screen lock is active too.

Something is not telling the phone to stay awake during a phone call.

Re: Put your ICS Problems in this thread [for those who have it installed]

A few times last night when taking the phone away from my ear, the screen wouldn't wake, I was in a shady part of a bar, the phone isn't recognising this.
