After accepting calls, when we put our ear to the ear speaker, the sensor will detect and put the display off.
And when we put our ear away, the sensor will detect and turn on the display.
But on my Xperia S, when i take my ear away from the ear speaker, the display remains off and never came on unless i press the on/off button to activate the screen.
Does other users experience this problem?
and also i don't have screen protector because there is already preinstaled on Scratch-resistant, shatter proof sheet on mineral glass
Display protector without covering the sensor.
Running 6.1.A.2.45

The proximity bug is in UK Generic ICS .453
Did he "try" I wonder...
I have the exact same problem with Xperia SL with screen protector wich doesn't cover the proximty sensor and I'm running 6.1.A.2.50. Any chance for a reliable solution???
So far no update for xperia S.
What the heck is this? All other phones already got 6.1.1.X.X
BUT WE XPERIA S ONLY 6.1.A.X.X ==
Sony is starting look like a big disappointment and became a shadow of what they used to be, mainly because of their lack of interest, because I can't explain this otherwise, in after sales service and shallow reactions regarding software issues...
It seems that my expectations were way too big compared to what they offer. Such a pitty
I have the same issue from the begining. I tried custom builds as well, which result the same issue. I wonder if this is a hardware issue. The phone doesnt turn off the display and the buttons on screen get pressed all the time - very annoying.
I am currently using the 6.1.A.2.55 build.. SONY fix this!!!!!

UK SIM free has had the inital ICS update only and this bug has been present since then, we have had to put up with this for over 4 months now without a single thing being done. The proximity bug was not present in Ginger Bread so it is not a hardware fault.
I see the Galaxy S3 has now started receiving Android 4.2 updates where as the Xperia S is stuck on a rather bug ridden ICS.
Is there any news on this?
