After accepting calls, when we put our ear to the ear speaker, the sensor will detect and put the display off.
And when we put our ear away, the sensor will detect and turn on the display.
But on my Xperia S, when i take my ear away from the ear speaker, the display remains off and never came on unless i press the on/off button to activate the screen.
Does other users experience this problem?

I have solution for this problem. if its not software problem i mean if hardware then you can follow the down steps.
Its from your proximity sensor not working perfect. If your phone is under warranty you can claim back and get the support from SONY.
For experts only. With custom rom.
1. Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2094321
2. When you complete and install it. Open Dialer > Setting > Incoming call status Settting > Disable Proximity sensor.
3. You've done.
Remember : Rooting your phone will void your warranty. As i said if you have no warranty then you can follow.
My build number is 6.1.A.2.45
