Google Play message

My Z has started displaying a google play message "item not found - retry? " This is the first screen that comes up whenever I log into the phone. No amount of retries will find the item. If I back arrow the normal google play home screen comes up. How can I work out what "item" it is looking for?

PS. I have restarted the phone and removed the last couple of apps installed, restarted all google apps, cleared cache etc, but the message still comes up.Any ideas?

I too am getting Play Store screen with error message 'Item not found. Retry' on firing up my phone. If you press Retry, the screen just repeats itself. No indication of what it's searching for. 

Basically same issue as jcarr1. Any news on solutions?

I'll add my Z to the list (jcarr1 and robB) of phones with this same issue.  This thread describes the problem exactly.  I have also tried the fixes without success.

I found a solution for my situation.  The app "Smart Connect" had a start action listed under the charging dock.  The app was not valid.  After clearing the app, the Play Store error no longer appears.

I think this could be a problem with the cache memory, do clean Play Store Cache and Data...

Hope it will work...
