Individual ringtones

I just got the Xperia Z yesterday.  I'm using an mp3 I have on the SD card as a general ringtone and set individual ringtones (also mp3s on the SD) for a few of my contacts.  However, when any of those contacts calls me, the phone still plays the general ringtone.  How can I fix this?

Backup your contacts first. http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/Backup-amp-Transfer/m-p/407253#U407253 You may simply backup contacts to your sim card: Contacts--menu--Backup--SIM Card. Then try clearing cache of the following apps:

1. Contacts

2. Contacts storage

3. Phone

4. Phone contacts

5. Phone/Messaging storage

It can be done at Settings--Apps--All apps--choose the apps one by one--Clear data. Then reboot. Import your contacts to your phone from sim card. Try adding specific ringtones to your contacts and see if it works. This process will delete your phone contacts, call log and your preferences for your Contacts and Dialer. So do a back up first.
