installing unknown apps

was trying to install playnow. downloaded it, phone says "install blocked" searched around people say go to settings and turn on setting to allow unknown apps. I don't see that setting anywhere. I have the x10a firmware 1.6 kernel 2.6.29-rel build r2ca016

any help?

Friend, it has got nothing to do with the version of your firmware. Just got to Settings> Applications and check the Unknown Sources check box. Now you will be able to install applications that are not downloaded from android market. Remember one thing the application has to be compatible with android 1.6

Kust tryint to give any an all imfo that may be needed.

I dont have that option. Must be that the took it away. when I open Settings / Applications all I get is Manage Apps and Development.

Try an update on your phone. Use SEUS to update your phone.
