Texting Problems Since Update Z1

OK updated to the new software and before i had no issues with texting, now i have issues, if i text it sometime hangs on sending text message and i can not close this or open another message or send another text message, the only way i can use text is to turn the phone off and then on, when i go back into the messages it says the first text has been sent and the same text message sits in the same persons message area to be sent and is called draft even though the first text now says its gone, this has only happend since the update.

Any one able to advise as its driving me nuts, i am turning the phone on anf off at lest 5 times a day.

Hi there,

You are definitely have a bug with messages.

Settings> Apps> All> Messaging > Clear Data/Cache > Force Stop + Restart your phone and try again.

Another solution might be "Factory Data Reset".

Tried this and it works for a few texts and then i have the same problem again, its a short term fix but does not solve the problem.

Repair with sony update service.

Just looked, so to correct the issue i loose all the contacts and messages and settings?

You can backup everything(messages,contacts,settings).But you might wanna give it a try,to resolve your issue.I must tell you it is not 100% sure...

ok ill give that a go, when i had my Samsung i never had any issues with updates, had two with Sony and both have caused issues, perhaps Sony need to put more effort into ensuring there updates work before releasing them as the text issues is a simple one to find.

Yes,we know this is a problem for sony.Great hardware,lack of software and support for it...

Well its easy for a bad reputation to grow and people being put off buying Sony Phones in the future.

Not as if they have not got the people, hardware, software or money to do the job correct the first time.
