Xperia Active won't switch on

Even though the battery is fully charged, my xperia actice does not switch on when I press and hold the power button.

I think it may be the power switch which is the problem, as there is no click when I press it. Also the button does not return to its original position when pressed.

Is there any other way of switching the phone on so that I can at least get my contacts onto the sim card? Maybe through PC companion or some other PC control?

I would suggest a software repair with sony update service,but this way you loose data(contacts,messages etc).Try to download myphone explorer,see if it finds your phone.
