Are you sure it's not just the initial load on cpu that comes during and after updating?
During the update, phones will get hot, after the update, they still work hard for a while building caches and optimising bits and pieces.
This in turn makes it stay hot a while.

I am convinced, is already 12 hours after I did the update. The highest temperature at 44.5 degrees there. I use it just to play the game a few minutes, and after that I saw the temperature rise so quickly

CPU speed also dropped considerably from 1.96 becomes 1.56 for all CPUs

Hello,

My Xperia Z3+ is draining battery very fast after updating to Nougat. Previously my battery used to pump upto 24 hours unders normal usage but from last 2 days after update the battery lasts only upto 8 hours at normal usage. Please help what should I do?

FYI - There is no new app added after update to Nougat and have stopped the Sync account feature as well.

Thanks

Arun

After resetting the device it still has lagging issue, any suggestions to fix. For instance when I turn on mobile data, what'sapp messages loads in the meantime I have to wait for the device to get normal, if do something, the system ui itself get not responding state and goes back to lock screen.

I have the exact same issue. My phone was giving me about 1 work day battery life on normal usage ( 100% charge at 7 am to about 30% by the time I reach home at 6pm). But right after the 7.0 update was done, it would not even last for 3 -4 hrs.  This is with The stamina mode enabled with background data etc disabled. I am not even using my phone at work usually since I have a desk phone. Now My phone drains battery from 100% at 7 am to 1 % by around 10am.

And I tried connecting a USB cable from my computer to extend the battery life and slowly keep it charging, but that wouldnt even help. The batter still drains just like that. So something in the new update is definitley killing this. I am not sure how can Sony even release an update in a such horrible state. Do they even test their phones on battery ?

I have been a Sony phone fan for a long time, but I have now decided not to buy sony phone's any more, Just because of this.
