Sadly adoptable storage is not enabled by sony so sd card is only for storing photos, music and videos.
Sorry to hear that.
Could you please let me know what SD card you have (brand, size, class)?
If possible, could you also take a log from your phone after you got this message and send it to me?
To do this:
Settings > About phone > Build number, tap 7 times on the build number
Go back to Settings and select Developer options and turn on "USB debugging". Then tap "Logger buffer sizes" and set this to "4 M".
- The next time you get the error message:
Settings > Developer options, select "Take bug report". When the report is ready (may take a minute or so) you get a notification that you can tap and share to Google Drive. Please send me a link to this file in a private message.
when i try to move any application to the SD card Kingston 64 gb class 10 exFAT format
it says not enough storage space while i have more than 30 gb free space on it !!!!!
this happend after marshmallow upgrade, it was working very good on lolipop with the same format
Device : Z3 Dual D6633
please help me, thanks in advance.
Found a solution that worked for me,
1. Restarted the phone on safe mode.
2. tried to move an application to the SD card, succeded.
3. Restarted the phone on normal mode agian.
4. Moved the rest of applications on the SD card
look like there was something or some service preventing the apps from moving to sd card !!!!
thank you anyway guys
Hello. I was excited to upgrade my Z3 to MM, and when I did it, I received and unpleasant surprise (in fact, 2): The SD cannot be longer used to storage portions of the Apps, but only to save multimedia files, and besides I cannot longer connect my Z3 via WiFi to my PC to transfer files.
Those two are at the top of my main features in a phone. I love my Z3, I enjoy its power, its camera (although it would be nice the camera supported camera API 2 so it would allow to manually adjust exposure time, but it's off-topic here), all I can do with it. I did a clean upgrade and with a few apps, now I have 6GB free in the internal storage, somehow those apps get inflated and eat up a lot of space, which can be somehow alleviated by transferring part of the data to the SD; not anymore. Maybe Sony can argue saying that because of SD performance, they won't sacrifice the overall speed of the phone; well, that should be up to the user, even a Moto G with MM allow to use the SD to be used as an extension of the internal memory; this is Android, not iOS, let us, the users, decide what to do with our phones. And regarding the WiFi transfer, I don't understand who had the idea to remove the feature, now I will have to install a third party app to a thing I extremely appreciated to be inherent to Sony.
Please, bring these features back to our phones; there is no real reason not to have them, because they were before and worked perfectly.
Thanks.
Hi, uliwooly, thanks for replying. I've tried and when I choose SD and then "move", appears: "Not enough storage space". I even tried to format the SD and it didn't work.
Cheers.
