WiFi Direct - Useless in Xperia Z

The main benefit of WiFi Direct is to transfer large files to anothet device with high speeds. Now Xperia Z has provided a menu for it but its totally a gimmick. Can somebody enlighten me why on earth they have given this feature when it can't give or take files from another device?  This is a shame that so much expensive phone doesn't support such a common and useful feature. What is the use of WiFi Direct in this phone?  Somehow I managed the absence of native video calls in Xperia phonrs but now WiFi Direct ? Comeon Sony are you kidding me? As I have spent a huge amounton this phone so I expect an explanation from you guys!

I have found a package that worked very well with Xperia Z1.

1) Download WIFIDROID from "SlideME Market".

2) Turn on your WiFi Hotspot;  Data can be disabled; no need for internet data.

( Program claims it can work with WiFi if your PC is connected to the same network.  I did not try it because WiFi HotSpot is easier for me.)

2) Run WIFIDROID on Xperia and it will give you an IP address;  like http://192.168.44.3:8080

3) On your PC that is connected to Xperia with Wifi, start a browser (mine is Firefox) and enter the http:// that is given by WIFIDROID.

(since I use HotSpot to provide the PC with internet service on the go, the setup was already there)

4) You will see the phone's internal memory which you cannot see with USB cable.

5) To see other memory, like SD, see how it shows running ASTRO on Xperia and seeing how the URL on PC is displayed.

(In my case I had to delete and replace what came after   ........../storage/      with   sdcard1/        to see the removable flash)

Very easy to use if you already have WiFi HotSpot connection between Xperia and PC.  In theory (I have not tested it yet) the same mechanism should work between two Xperia units.  One can be HotSpot running WIFIDROID, while the other running WiFi and a Firefox browser.  In fact if you can provide HotSpot to others; then transfer can happen between any two device that is connected via HotSpot.

All folders are accessible and I saw not limitation based on 5 minutes of testing.  Slightly_smiling_Face

Why download a third party, where our samsung buddies can laugh an say rather get a samsung. My moto is sony for life,so Sony should rather fix this buy with firmware.

I use wireless media transfer to transfer file over wifi for files larger than 1Gb and it works well... try it.

Please don't try to find an alternative solutions. We need a concrete solutions from Sony. If I use for example Superbeam or another application like that, I'll have to install it also in the other user's device, and that is where the problem arises especially in emergencies.

I have installed SuperBeam pro but I can't make WiFi Direct working, I have Z5 and Z3CT, would you let me know how to do that?  Both are on Android M.
