Hey everyone. My phone was working fine until today after an software update. Suddenly it doesnt recognize if the charger cable is plugged in, anymore. I've tried different cables, wallplugs, powerbank, computer. I've restarted and reinstalled the phone.
Funny thing is it does charge, if i restart my phone, for like 5 seconds before the software has booted up again, tho. Indicated by the red light, but it turns off as soon the software boots up again. Like it has to remind my port that it is broken.
Are there any solutions for this? I'm trying the volume button + power button thing at the moment.
Hi @rudimen,
Welcome to the community. I am sorry to hear about this.
Does it charge if you have the device turned off? If so, charge it up then run a Software Repair using Xperia Companion.
No it doesn't charge. It's down to 25%, it's turned off for now.
I can't charge it and I can't connect it to a PC. If I plug in a chord it does register this, tho. When it's turned off and I plug a cable in, the screen turns on to the charging screen (the battery pic), but it does not charge. Well, sometimes it does a little bit, like 1%, but I haven't found out how to reproduce this.
I've tried many things, restarting, reinstalling, taking the sim/sd card out, put it on charge and then restart, the volume up + power methods suggested, heating it up a bit, different cables, power sources and so on.
I once got a message saying something along the lines "the phone charges very slow, slower than it's draining."
Based on the information you have provided I recommend you contact your local support team to arrange a repair.
