Default SIM for calls

Dear support,
Is it possible to set up default SIM for calls? I am using SBH50 wireless headset, and it is impossible to call anyone without choosing SIM cards directly on the phone. The same issue with headset from other manufactures. Thanks.

Hi @Orcl

Welcome to the community.

Newer Xperia dual SIM models feature two GSM receivers, so both SIM cards are always active and will want to be selected for each call or SMS.

Hi John-BR,

It is actually technically unclear why it is impossible to have an option default SIM card for call. In settings->Dual Sim settings you can select sim card for data traffic. But why don't include an option default SIM card for calls? In application layer of Android seems to be no restrictions to that. Even if you have 2 receivers, 2 sim cards will binded to each one. So by selecting one of the card as default you might be calling via an appropriate GSM tx/rx. To my mind there is no limitations to fix the issue.

Thanks.

Dear support,
Actually I received the reply that cannot be accepted, because the problem
I mentioned looks like an issue and might be fixed. Please review.
Thanks.

Is there any news from Sony on this subject? It would be good to know if the issue was resolved with the Marshmallow update at least..

I am thinking of buying a dual SIM phone and the C5 Ultra is a potential candidate but if I understand correctly I won't be able to make phone calls from my car because using the car controls the dialer will be stuck on the SIM selection screen everytime I try to make a call... is that correct?

If I understood correctly then this is a complete show stopper for me...

Actually nothing from support about the subject. You are right, anytime you are trying to make a call remotely, you will be asked for SIM on phone screen. Probably new update change the picture, but no one can confirm this.

It makes you wonder if Sony employs at least a couple of people to run the most basic use cases on a phone before it is released.  Has anyone tried to use this phone with a Bluetooth headset as part of the acceptance process? Apparently not.

Does anybody know if the update to Android 5.1 has addressed the issue of not being able to make calls via Bluetooth without having to confirm which SIM to use? Is there an option to set the default sim for calls now?
